Megan lives in Henrico County, Virginia with her husband, Stan, and three children. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in Urban Studies and Planning. Upon graduating, she began working at Timmons Group in the Geographic Information Systems department and became a project manager before making the decision to be a stay-at-home mom in 2006.​​​​​​​​

Megan’s love for genealogy started when she was in elementary school. She took interest in searching through her parents’ yearbooks and knew which friends of hers were related to classmates of her parents. She also knew all of her grandparents’ thirteen grandchildren’s birthdates in order from oldest to youngest.

Around 2002, she began tracing her husband’s family tree since her mother had already started tracing theirs. Her first major find was her husband’s great grandfather, who had left the family during the Depression never to be heard from again. In 2014, Megan completed the Genealogical Research Certificate program through Boston University. She then began taking on clients for various projects, including families with colonial and African American ancestry.

Megan started to delve into the world of genetic genealogy in 2014. She started by testing her oldest son because there were many unanswered questions on his paternal line. It was rumored that he was part Cherokee Indian through his great grandfather. Although the Native American ancestry still has not been proven, we do know that his family is connected to the Monacan Indian tribe out of Rockbridge County, Virginia. This project launched Megan into what has become her passion. Since 2015, she has been instrumental in finding several family members for adoptees and persons that had an unknown father.
